We are so lucky here in the Hudson Valley, surrounded by all of the incredible farms and orchards, with their delicious and bountiful harvests that come but once a year. While nothing compares to that perfectly ripe fruit in season..the next best thing to that peak flavour is knowing how to preserve it and make it last throughout the year.
We’ve tapped local expert, Kelly Geary, to lead you through the ‘ins and outs’ of safe preserving while we prepare two jam recipes — blueberry and peach — that we’ll jar up and boil in a water bath for you to take home to enjoy. Each participant will also get a signed copy of Kelly’s book Tart & Sweet.

Kelly Geary is a master preserve maker. Her book Tart & Sweet was published by Rodale in 2011, and she currently makes the preserves for Blue Hill for Stone Barns, as well as continuing to run her own company, Sweet Deliverance. Ms. Geary also works as a private chef, caterer, and consultant, having opened multiple restaurants throughout the country.
