Mardi Gras with Ric Orlando | Fat Tuesday Feast

  • 6:00pm
  • 37b north front street, kingston, ny 12401

Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday” referring to the practice of the last night of eating rich, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season begins.  New Orleans fare is heavily influenced by Creole cuisine, Cajun cuisine and soul food…taking culinary cues from the French, Spanish, West African and Native Americans amalgamating in perhaps one of the most distinctive regional cusines in the US.

If you can’t get away to NOLA this Fat Tuesday to experience her gustatory joys, then celebrate with us here in Kingston under the direction of local N’Awlins expert, Ric Orlando. We’re going to learn to cook up a mess of the most iconic dishes that will make your Mardi Gras rock!

On the menu: Baked Oysters 2 ways (Ric-er-feller and Bienville), Pan BBQ Peppered Shrimp, Big ”Everything” Gumbo, Bananas Foster and Sazeracs.

$85 per student includes 3hr workshop and recipes + eat-what-you-make!
