Farmers Market Cooking Class | Autumn Harvest with Holly Shelowitz

For foodies, there’s nothing better than eating ‘in season’ from the farmers market–enjoying the best and freshest produce from local farms. In this class, Holly will take us on a tour of the Kingston Farmers Market to gather ingredients, then head back to bluecashew to create a beautiful lunch.

Enjoy freshly harvested, locally grown ingredients, hone your meal-planning skills and learn to create uncomplicated dishes that will forever become part of your repertoire. On the menu (slight changes may occur due to market availability): Butternut Squash Soup with apple, Roasted Sweet Squash with chicken & garlicky greens and Pear Compote with vanilla cashew cream.

ABOUT THE CHEF

Holly Shelowitz is a Certified Nutrition Counselor and Chef Educator. For the past 19 years she has been teaching people how to prepare delicious nourishing food. In addition to her online workshops and courses, Holly was the Northeast Regional Nutrition Educator for Whole Foods Market, helping to launch two Global Healthy Eating Education programs that were integrated company wide, then Holly came back home to the Hudson Valley to create the Healthy Eating Education Program at Mother Earth’s Storehouse. You’ll find her at the farmers markets and farms enjoying the bounty of the Hudson Valley.
