Diabetes-Friendly Cooking with Corinne Trang

  • 1:00pm
  • 37b north front street, kingston, ny 12401

This workshop is offered to improve the lives of folks who are living with diabetes as well as their loved ones.

Join Corinne Trang, author of the award-winning, “Asian Diabetes Flavors Cookbook” and “Switch It Up: Quick and Easy Diabetes-Friendly Recipes for a Balanced Life,” and learn to develop a healthy cooking style without having to compromise on flavor.  Food is the fuel that makes our bodies run, and our health issues are often directly linked to processed foods and unhealthy diets. The focus of this workshop will be on sticking to fresh ingredients and mind-mapping meal plans to set and achieve goals while increasing fiber intake for proper digestion.

You’ll learn to lower sugar, salt and fat intake for optimum health while maximizing flavor, minimizing cooking to retain nutrients, and balancing the colors, textures and flavors on the plate.  On the menu: Spicy Miso Guacamole, Pan-seared Pork Tenderloin with sauteed apples & basil, Brown Rice with shaved broccoli, nuts & seeds, and a Veggie Napoleon with mozzarella & roasted garlic. Chef Trang is one of our most rigorous instructors so come prepared to work!

$90 per student includes 3hr workshop and recipes PLUS eat-what-you-make!
