Bitters Workshop with Laura Silverman, The Outside Institute

  • 3:00pm
  • 37b north front street, kingston, ny 12401

We couldn’t be more excited to finally welcome Laura Silverman, The Outside Institute, to lead this hands-on workshop on crafting bitters from wild-foraged, locally grown and exotic botanicals–many of which have healing properties!

We’ll kick things off with a welcome drink and tasting of bitters before discussing their history and health benefits, endless ingredient possibilities, tools and techniques.  We’ll make two of our own seasonal bitters that you’ll be able to take home with you along with an amber glass dispensing bottle–Warming Spice Bitters with clove, black cardamom, mace, spicebush, cinchona bark, wild cherry bark, gentian root, Indonesian cinnamon, raisins, dried orange peel, blackstrap and molasses; and Barberry-Maple Bitters with fenugreek, barberry root, licorice root, dandelion root, anise seed, fennel pollen, bee pollen and maple syrup.

We’ll also demo two cocktails/mocktails that can be made with your homemade bitters.

$90 per student includes 2hr workshop and recipes PLUS taste-and-take-home-what-you-make!
